General information:

NZ On Air development funding is primarily for drama projects (as they are generally the highest cost projects), although other types of programmes will be considered occasionally. Development funding sometimes results from NZ On Air and broadcaster partnerships targeting particular types of programmes, where they agree some development investment would be beneficial. Previous examples of this have included one-off plays, adult drama series, and comedy projects.Applications should be made by an experienced producer.

Application dates:

Meetings are held every two months. Applicants are contacted by fax within three days following the meeting with details of the decision.

February 2004 Funding Round: Application Deadline - Friday 23 January (Meeting Dates - 25 & 26 February).
April 2004 Funding Round: Application Deadline - Friday 19 March (Meeting Dates - 21 & 22 April)
June 2004 Funding Round: Application Deadline - Friday 14 May (Meeting Dates - 16 & 17 June)
August 2004 Funding Round: Application Deadline - Friday 16 July (Meeting Dates - 18 & 19 August)
