New Historians Postgraduate Conference

The postgraduate students from the History Programme, Victoria University of Wellington are holding the fifth annual New Historians Postgraduate Conference on 30 and 31 August 2010.

This conference has proven to be a great chance for postgraduate students from New Zealand and further afield to present their work in a friendly, supportive environment. It is an excellent opportunity to receive feedback, to discuss a wide range of topics and to network with students from around the country.

Papers are invited on all historical themes, topics or issues from MA or PhD students. In previous years the conference has been interdisciplinary in nature and papers on historical topics from disciplines other than History will be welcomed. Presentations will be twenty minutes in length.

Provisionally, registration will be $20. There will also be a conference dinner on 31 August at additional cost.

Please submit an abstract of no more than 250 words, a brief biographical statement of no more than 200 words and your contact details to newhistorians@myvuw.ac.nz. The deadline for submissions is Monday 12 July 2010.
