Bridging Programmes seminar. Dr Marion Bowl on "Mature students bridging to university in England and Aotearoa New Zealand - a report back on a small research project and some suggestions for further research".
In the seminar, Dr Marion Bowl will briefly report on the pilot research project she conducted with staff at University of Canterbury Bridging Programmes and at two Access to Higher Education Courses in England and invite discussion on the current threats, challenges, opportunities and research possibilities in this area of education.

Marion was formerly Senior Lecturer in Adult and Community Education at the University of Canterbury and currently Senior Lecturer and Director of Studies for Continuing Professional Development in the School of Education at the University of Birmingham, England. Her teaching and research interests are in adult and community education, higher education and participatory research approaches.
