MA10 Conference 'Museums - Who Needs Them?'

Museums Aotearoa warmly invites museum professionals, board members, associates, academics and colleagues to join MA10 for three days of high-level ideas sharing, discussion and networking.

Theme: Museums – who needs them?

MA10 will focus on four broad themes that will be addressed by leading international and national keynote speakers, workshops and case studies:

Social impact and creative capital: what is the social relevance and contribution of museums and galleries within a broader framework?

Community engagement: how do we undertake audience development, motivate stakeholders as advocates, and activate funders?

Economic impact and cultural tourism: how do we demonstrate our economic value and contribution, and how do we develop economic collaborations?

Current climate: how do we meet these challenges in the current economic climate, the changing political landscape nationally and locally, and mediate changing public and visitor expectations?
