Creative PhDs Research Seminar

How can a performance or a painting be research? How can a studio become a laboratory? How can creative practice emerge in a PhD?

In this enlightening seminar, leading creative practice researchers from The University of Auckland will reflect on how art and academia can combine to contribute new knowledge. This introduces The University of Auckland’s approach to guiding creative practice PhD research.

Speakers include Professor Andrew Barrie (Architecture and Planning), Dr Carol Brown (Dance Studies), John Coulter (Music), Associate Professor Murray Edmond (Drama), Associate Professor Annie Goldson (Film, Television and Media), Dr Ruth Watson (Fine Arts) and Linda Tyler (Centre for New Zealand Art Research and Discovery). The MC is Dr Nicholas Rowe, NICAI's Associate Dean – Postgraduate.
